Yo guys! I recently decided that after lightening my hair, that I should venture bravely into dyeing my hair a bright, cute colour!

I decided to use ion Color Brilliance Semi-Permanent Creme, in Magenta--mostly because they were on sale at Sally's for 4.79, at the time. 



In hindsight, I should have either a) dyed soon after bleaching with the L'oreal Feria Shimmering Powder or, b) bought and used a protein treatment that's supposed to open the hair "pores" so then bright coloured hair dyed with penetrate and stick the hair shaft better.


I found out this information long afterwards unfortunately, because almost 98% of the dye washed out, despite that I had left it on my hair for over an hour. I did dilute it, and so I should've either not diluted the mixture OR kept it on my hair for say, three or four hours, instead of just one.


So then, after a So after week-ish, I decided to try again. This time around, I used ion Color Brilliance Semi-Permanent Creme, in Flamingo--they were still on sale at Sally's for 4.79!!!


This time, I did not dilute the hair dye with any conditioner and I left the dye on for about two hours total.


The result ended up being a slight rose-gold tint--very nice! I just wish it had lasted longer than a few days, though....



It faded pretty bloody quickly, but looked SO CUTE....!!!!!!

Next time, I will: bleach lighter in preparation, use a different brand, and be sure to not dilute but to leave the dye on for as long as possible, for maximum absorption.

Hello all! I recently tried dyeing my hair from a natural darker brown, and lightening it to a blonde. I used L'oreal Feria Shimmering Powder, in Absolute Platinum and did two sessions of that at home. It turned out pretty well tbh, for starting out as such a darker colour...










Here's my hair the day before using the shimmering powder bleach:






After I let my hair air-dry, it looked like this(also very soft, thanks to the condition treatment!):





A couple of days later, I decided to repeat the same process again with another box of Feria, and this was my result (picture below). Unlike the first bottle which had went extremely well, I had a mixed experience with the second bottle--when opening the bottle, it actually had a chemical reaction going on and the bottle became extremely hot!!

But considering, honestly, it turned out pretty well but if I decide on doing a colour soon, I will need to bleach properly to achieve a much light colour. Here's my hair, after the second round of Feria:

Hello all! Yo girl headed down to San Fran about almost two weeks ago. I took two days surrounding my normal two days off from work and left early Tuesday morning, returning very late on Thursday (got home at 1am!) with Friday being a day to recover.  (It took me Saturday and Sunday even at work to recover. My body ached!)

Hello! Today I'm finally reviewing the Etude House Baby Choux Base, in Mint. The tube I have has been a little neglected--it's kind of a hit-and-miss product for me.  Long story short: it's a colour correcting base with a grandma powder scent, one that has completely turned me off the base...and I've buried myself in work....so here we are, months later! (I lie...it's almost been a year later!)

I've been charmed at the potential this base could have on my redness as a color-correcting primer base and it's got a cute princess-y feel to it. Let's take a look at how well this Etude House product really works on my redness prone pale ass face.




Etude House originally released the Baby Choux Base in three colours (Peach, Berry, Mint) back in 2013, but was in a cute, but likely unsanitary jar.  The product was reintroduced some time after that and is currently sold in tube form--more hygienic, but less product.

I originally purchased last summer? from YouRiShop, off of Amazon, for around USD$12 ( at the time). Service was good, fast and I'd definitely purchase from this seller again (I have many times, since.)

Hey! Today I'm reviewing four ampoules samples: two samples from Lioele, the Missha "long(er) name" Ampoule and Mizon's Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule. My goal is to find an ampoule that I like the smell, texture and consistancy of (nothing sticky!!!), get through some of my sample stash and actually write something in the process, too. 

In this post, I'm including first impression thoughts, focusing on scent, texture and colour. Anything of performance should be evaluated at a later point (for fairness) should I decide to buy the full size product--the scent, texture or colour are the key components that often hold me from buying a product, or tell me to dive straight in (the peach scent is where it's at, guys!!). Hello all! I've been busy with work lately. I've also finally caught up with EXO's new comeback MV's and the new album, and also Jonghyun's new jams. I'm gonna order both album off YesAsia (I'm stocked for the new jams) but honestly, the aesthetics for both new MV's are breathtakingly, bone-chillingly amazing. I wonder how far in advance that EXO and S.M. have been planning this concept and release?

Anyway, it's that time again, where I briefly talk about my empties...primarily so I can do my recycling!! In this installment of Trash Talk, I'm sharing some quick thoughts of more than a couple products, some repurchases and some tried-and-true favourites.

Hello all! Last summer??? I picked up the Forever21 Love & Beauty Scented Sheer Lip Color Pen, in Coral. Why? (I'm still asking myself that.) Basically, I'm a wild mix of intrigued (did they do it right?!) and disgusted at how F21 makes knockoff of even beauty products but doesn't take the time to say, make their own ORIGINAL line of cosmetics and skincare. What's hilarious too, is that F21 have recently been selling actual Korean products on their site (Holika Holika, Peripera, etc)

I admit, I like F21 for some of it's fast fashion but I don't appreciate blatant art theft and copyright infringement, and specifically in this case, with a superior product. I suppose the waters are muddy in the cosmetics and skincare world, in that companies are able to freely make dupes of other (often high end or foreign brand) products. But Forever21 could easily follow in the footsteps of Sephora and Ulta and also carry more (real) K-beauty in stores, thus eliminating the expansiveness of F21's Love & Beauty line, where a portion of the skincare and beauty line is very much "inspired" from other brands and very often, borrows and copies from other brands in addition (like the macron lip balms, taken from the It's Skin lip balms, or animals shaped balms, taken from Etude House's line of hand creams, etc....)

In a roundabout way, this is what compelled me to want to buy the knockoff AND the real version, and to compare the two to see how bad the knock off is (spoiler: it's bad) and why it's important to support the brands. It also brings up real issues of copyright and intellectual rights for cosmetics and skincare, state-side and abroad.

I will be comparing a Tony Moly Petit Bunny Gloss Bar, in 05 Juicy Peach to it's knockoff counterpart, the F21 Love & Beauty Scented Sheer Lip Color Pen, in Coral.
